 Tra le molte meraviglie della storia della Serenissima c’è quello di un cesto di anatre che si trasforma in una moneta d’argento. Fra gli obblighi cui il Doge di Venezia era tenuto nei confronti del Maggior Consiglio - cioè del collegio più ampio della Repubblica, di cui faceva parte il corpo dell’aristocrazia cittadina - c’era, fin dal Medioevo, quello di offrire annualmente ai consiglieri un dono in natura, costituito da certe pregiate anatre di palude dalle zampe rosse, chiamate comunemente oselle (alla lettera, «uccelli»). L’impegno rendeva il Principe simile a un mezzadro, che ogni anno porta ai proprietari del podere i frutti migliori ch’esso produce. Un modo per ricordare al Dux la sua natura di primus inter pares e di fedele servitore di uno Stato di cui egli non poteva considerarsi il padrone, bensì l’oculato amministratore.

 3 silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Rubles dedicated to the 65-th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945.
The obverse: the relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - the two-headed eagle with wings down, and the semicircular inscription under it "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed by a circle of beads. The inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (THREE RUBLES) and the year of issue "2010".
